  • 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM: Reception for TAV Students at Mc32 and Behrman Charter Schools
    Location: Preservation Resource Center 923 Tchoupitoulas St. New Orleans, LA

    You are invited to the opening reception for a new series of work created by Talented and Visual Arts students at Behrman and MC32 Charter Schools

    What: "Architectonics of New Orleanian Identity"

    An amazing series of mixed media architecture/portrait studies created by a group of 10 – 12 year old children working under the guidance of artist Ryan S Ballard. This artwork was created over several months in an elaborate collaborative process involving 2D and 3D collage techniques.

  • 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Alice Harte celebrate "Literacy Week"
    Location: Alice Harte Charter School 5300 Berkley Drive New Orleans, LA 70131

    A Scholastic Book Fair is available during enrichment classes.
     
    Wednesday, March 3, 2010 is "Family Literacy Night".  'Open Mic" will be held where students can showcase their talents and original works.
     
    Thursday, March 4, 2010 we will be visited by the "New Orleans Hornets" along with their bookmobile.  Free books will be provided to students in grades Kdg - 5 from 8:30 to 9:30.
     
    "Hugo",  the Hornets Mascot will surprise the students and then act out his favorite book at 10:15.  Shhhh!  Please don't tell your children.  "Hugo" likes to surprise them when he visits.

    Edna Karr Secondary School will host a cheerleader "Kiddie Kamp" on Saturday, March 20, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon.  Registration forms are available in the school's office.  The cost is $30.00 (includes, t-shirt, snack, crafts and activities).  For more information please call the school at 302-7135.

    The Algiers Charter Schools Association (ACSA) is looking for highly qualified teachers!

    ACSA will host a Teacher Recruitment Fair on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from 9:00a.m. – 5:00p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel, 500 Canal Street in New Orleans.

    Highly Qualified Teachers will have an opportunity to meet with administrators from all nine ACSA network charter schools and learn about TAP, The System for Teacher and Student Advancement.
