August 21, 2009 Dear Parents, Students at our schools have experienced flu-like symptoms. We have been very proactive ensuring that we have soap, paper towels, hand sanitizers, and other cleaning items readily available and accessible for students. As we embark upon the flu season, we anticipate that this will be an ongoing effort at our schools. We want you to know that we are working very hard to keep our staff and children healthy. Please refer to ACSA’s “Flu Season Preparedness” documentation for a list of other symptoms that you should pay close attention to. If your child experiences elevated temperatures or flu-like symptoms, please take precautionary measures and seek a physician’s recommendation. To ensure the safety of our students and staff, if your child is sent home from school due to experiences of flu-like symptoms, your child will not be able to return to school without documented clearance from their personal physician. If you have any further questions, please contact us at (504) 302-7000. Sincerely, Michelle Harvey |
