EDNA KARR CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL OFFERS DISPLACED SENIORS OPPORTUNITY TO WALK WITH THEIR CLASS

April 27, 2006

New Orleans – Today, Edna Karr Charter High School announced an opportunity for Seniors who had previously attended Karr but who were currently displaced to walk with their graduating class.

“We felt that this was an important gesture to make towards those students who wanted to be with their friends when they received their high school diploma,” said John Hiser, principal at Karr. “We couldn’t give them their senior year exactly as they would have scripted it, but it lets those kids know that they will always be Karr Cougars.”

Students who would like to participate in the graduation ceremonies must have a letter sent by their current school indicating that they have fulfilled their graduation requirements. Those letters must be received no later than May 12, 2006. Students also are required to participate in the graduation practice on May 22nd at 9:00 am to be held at Tulane University’s McAllister Auditorium. The graduation itself is scheduled for May 24th at 7:00 pm also at McAllister Auditorium.
