New Orleans - Students from both O. Perry Walker Senior High School and Harriet Tubman Elementary School took part in a unique educational experience as participants in the Louisiana Body Walk Exhibit.  The traveling 35 by 45 foot enclosed walk through exhibit, which is sponsored by LSU Ag Center and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, is an educational program designed to teach kindergarten through fifth graders the importance of good nutrition choices and physically activity.    The O. Perry Walker students taught the elementary students about the functions of the brain, mouth, stomach, small intestine, heart, lungs, bones, muscles, and skin.  For more information please visit, www.smartbodies.org.

The Algiers Technology Academy, New Orleans first technology based charter school, honored 60 students this week during their first ever “Terrific Teens” Ceremony.  The students were honored for grade improvements by subject and classification, perfect conduct, perfect attendance, and school leadership.
